It is assumed that you have a basic understanding of Windows and your computer including how your drives are organized into folders and how to create folders and save/move files and folders. If this sounds like a foreign language to you, there are many tutorials in the form of books, CDs and videos. There are just a few things to remember when downloading software. Follow these guidelines and you should not have any trouble. Before downloading: Create a folder on your hard drive to receive it. On my computer I have a folder on my hard drive called "download" and whenever I download something, THAT is where I know to put/find it. Beginning download: When you click to begin a download, the computer gives you the option to either "open" or "save to disk". The answer is always "save". Do not get confused by the word "disk", your hard drive IS a disk (usually drive C) You will save it to the folder you created for that purpose. After download completes: Once the download has finished, disconnect and close any programs you may have running. Open the folder and double click the file you just downloaded, it will begin the installation. After installation: The file you downloaded was a compression of the many files required for the program which are now installed on your computer so is no longer required for operation of the program. You can do one of 3 things with it: -save it where it is in case re-installation is ever needed -copy it to other storage for possible future needs -discard (delete) it Hmmmm..... Think I'll save this as a form letter. HaHa...
