Microsoft Outlook Express
Follow these instructions to set up a single or first email account.

If you already have one email account configured and are setting up an additional user, click here.
1) Open Outlook 98 or Express
2) From the drop-down menus, select Tools-Accounts

 3) Click the Mail tab, then on the Add button and select Mail

 4) In the Display name box enter your name as you wish it to appear
    at the recipient's end 

 5) Click Next
6) In the Email address box enter your email address 
(example: kenny@truevine.net) 

 7) Click Next
8) Enter the mail server information

Incoming Mail Server should be set to: 
  mail.truevine.net
  (it is a "pop3" type server)

The Outgoing Mailserver setting depends on your calling group.

If you are in calling group #1, #6,  #8, or #9 use:
           smtp.truevine.net

If you are in calling groups #2,  #4, or  #7 use:
           mail.truevine.net
 
                              SPECIAL NOTE: If using mail.truevine.net for groups 2/4/7 
                               After  completing the wizard you will need to go into the
                               properties of the account and put a checkmark on
                               "my server requires authentication" 


 9) Click Next
10) Make sure Logon using: is selected and enter the information.

"Email User Name"  OR  "Email Login"  OR  "Account Name
  means the first part of your email address.

Example:
My email address is kenny@truevine.net
so my email account name is:   kenny
Password 
is your EMAIL password for THIS email address. Some folks use the same as for their dial in connection. Others use a different password for each email. When I type mine I see:

    ******
It shows as asterisks so be careful typing. You didn't think I was going to show you MY password
did you?   :-)

DO NOT select Secure Password Authentication.

 11) Select Next
12) In the Internet mail account name box, enter a "friendly name" for your account. 

Note: This can be anything you want. Most folks just leave as mail.truevine.net.

 13) Select Next
14) Select Connect using my phone line

 15) Select Next
16) Select Use an existing dial up networking connection and 
      make sure the connection name for truevine is selected. 

 16) Click Next
17) Click Finish to save your settings
