Presentation Guidelines
- Visual Required
- most use some preseentation software
- Microsoft Powerpoint, OpenOffice Impress, Google slides
- poster and handouts are accepted
- minimal is writing on the chalk board
- First Slide
- include title and your name
- Content - same as your paper
- history - first described and by whom
- incidence
- organism - description
- signs and symptoms
- how diagnosed - lab tests used
- how treated and/or prevented
- future research
- General Guidelines
- do not read slides to us
- you can read from your notes
- slides should only contain the subject words you want your audience to remember
- bullet points are not sentences
- use a large font size (IOWs make use of as much as the slide space you can)
- pictures are encouraged
- in a small font size, reference where your picture came from
- no reference slide needed (I saw your references in your paper.)
- end with a 'Thank You' and/or 'Questions' slide
- Actual Presentation
- no minimum time required
- projection options
- your own computer (hdmi or vga connection)
- lab computer
- Microsoft Powerpoint
- OpenOffice Impress
- internet connected
- Google slides - but remember Google will call your phone to log you on
- grade = 25 points (same as a lab quiz)
